What is 4-H in Mason County?
Healthy growth needs strong roots...
Every year over 3000 Mason County youth participate in a nationwide program called 4-H... a network of young people across America who are learning citizenship, leadership and life skills.
A glimpse of 4-H in your area...
We
often associate 4-H with the Mason County Fair and their animals... but consider this...
these kids care for their animals year round, exercising them in dismal weather and feeding them in the dark hours before school. That takes commitment.
Nurturing teamwork and planting opportunities in Mason County
Here in Mason County, as everywhere across the nation, kids come home to empty houses as families struggle to make a living. That's just one of the reasons 4-H serves 120 young people in an after school program. Here our kids learn skills from nutrition to arts and crafts as well as build teamwork and practice communication skills. Click here for details on 4-H After School
4-H's Panhandle Camp offers experiences to County kids all year long. The summer forestry program allows high school students to work with forestry professionals and learn about their environment by building trails, maintaining parks and preserving habitats. Click here for details
What is the Mason County Clover Campaign?
Many of the 4-H programs are in peril of the economic crunch. Throughout this Summer and Fall we are reaching out to our community to experience what 4-H has to offer. This campaign is not just to raise much needed funds, but also raise awareness about what your local programs can offer!
Join us for open houses, countywide events... No matter what the interest... from aquaculture to government and zoology... there is a 4-H program in Mason County to fit. 4-H for all of us. Click here for details on how you can support 4-H in your County!
